Bestival competition entry
As soon as I saw the line up for Bestival and saw Friendly Fires I felt compelled to create a poster for them, I envisaged big beautiful flowers and wildlife aside vivid and vibrant colours evoking Hawaii - from their album ‘Pala’ and the song ‘Hawaiian Air’. In some respect the final submission achieves this, and it is executed well, but it does defiantly not bring to mind a music poster in my mind nor does it represent what the music and essentially the band are all about. The glasses reflect a great open clear blue sea with a mysterious beautiful woman within sight, influenced by countless hours spent in art drawing from reflections.
