Myopia Consortium UK branding
As part of my uni brief we worked with a consortium dealing with short sightedness, the process involved a number of interactions with the client where we would learn how an identity would be applied and what the consortium wanted out of a logo and essentially an identity.
The identity holds onto one key premise, a clear column that’s featured in the majority of literature that forms an a-symmetrical layout. The logo is informed by optical apparatus. I enjoyed designing this identity.

Ism book jacket series

I created two book jackets as part of a series for uni. The time taken to complete the design process was probably the lengthiest throughout the course so far, and saw me design countless book jackets. In the end I decided on a lock-up that is informed by slab serif typography, accompanied by a vector image that informs the user what the subject is about.

I was assigned Empiricism and Structuralism as subjects to research and design for, both involve psychology. Binary oppositions is a strong element of Structuralism, I expressed the notion of binary oppositions through flowers, dead and alive.

30 minute exercise
I was recently messaged by a research group that wanted to gain a greater insight into how designers work. They proposed an experiment, giving me only 30 minutes to design an A2 poster and document the process with a series of screenshots. I found the exercise incredibly stressful and daunting, given that normally I would be allocated around two weeks for a brief. However in the end I feel I accomplished the brief.

Current website designs for client

I intended to bring to mind a very clean and contemporary appeal throughout the website; the client is a local carpenter\handy man so it will be interesting to see his response to the design and whether he favours such a contemporary design.

Clifford Watts branding
When on my work placement I was given the brief to create the branding for an entire new company, which deals with insolvency and PPI reclaim, using jagged edges and harsh tones I achieved a contemporary appeal.

Hooche onvert
When at work experience I created this, making use of the onvert app the company are developing and shows what the poster would like before it is scanned (left) and after (right). This will be presented to hooch as a proposal for them to invest in.

Cygnett competition entry

Informed by the components found inside an iPad, the design was carefully thought and positioned in such a way that surrounds the impressive ‘A4’ processor created by Apple thus making the processor the central point of the design. (Prevision attempts of entries for this competition are seen in older posts)

Ross submission
I re-designed a specimen sheet of my Ross typeface, for submission of a typography blog, by adapting the texture and colours in photoshop I was able to evoke more of a vintage 70’s appeal that I believe brings the piece to life.
